This year’s BMBA National Championships is approaching.
There will be a change of format for this year’s event, due to Covid-19 restrictions.
The event will still be at Chelmarsh Sailing Club in Shropshire, but will now span 3 days rather than the usual 4 days, and there will be no formal Championship meal. There will still be the usual number of Championship races.
The new dates are Wednesday the 4th August, Thursday the 5th of August and Friday the 6th August 2021.
One of the reasons for shortening the event is that no camping in tents will be allowed at the club. Up to 10 self-contained campervans/motorhomes, i.e. vehicles with their own showers, will be permitted. Booking one of these motorhome slots can be done through the CSC website. There is a camp site very close to Chelmarsh SC, at the Unicorn Inn (unicornhamptonloade.co.uk), available at commercial rates. Reducing the number of nights camping required will help to keep a lid on costs.
The Notice of Race, Sailing Instructions and a map of CSC Course layout are below.
We will hopefully be able to lay on a BBQ and music on either Wednesday or Thursday evening. An Agenda for the AGM will be posted on the website after the 4th of July allowing members to submit any proposals.
Hopefully, Government Covid restrictions will be eased on the 19th July, but it will take time for Chelmarsh SC to carry out the necessary risk assessments etc before they will be able to change CSC’s own Covid procedures.
Please be aware that the contact details of those attending will be used for “Track and Trace” purposes.
Hopefully the weather will be kind to us!
