Stuart Hutchinson

I just received the very sad news that Stuart Hutchinson died yesterday. He died with his family close to him having been ill for some time. Stuart was class secretary during the 1980’s under the Chairmanship of Cyril Hill. Along with his wife, Kate, Stuart ran the association during a very busy period and did a fantastic job supporting and promoting the class. As a result of Kate being sadly struck down by terminal cancer, Stuart moved away from sailing for many years. He returned to Broxbourne around 2012 and even sailed a bit in a Moth and a challenger. Some of you will know Stuart of old and some will only know him more recently from his attendance at the Nationals from 2013 through to 2018 at which he filmed every race and prize giving. Stuart was one of the kindest souls it has been my pleasure to know and the Moth class is lucky to have benefited from his time with us.
