NOTICE OF RACE
Eligibility and Conditions of Entry
- Open to all British Moth boat association members and host club members. Discounted Association membership available for those who are attending their first Moth Nationals.
- Entry is in advance to be booked via the entry form on the website our or via contacting secretary@britishmoth.co.uk .Completed entry forms including payment to be submitted to the treasurer froswick@btinternet.com>. Bank transfer payments can be made, account details will be on the entry form.
- Late entries will be accepted at the event and subject to a late booking fee of £10.
- The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor racing the boat, who must ensure that the boat and crew are adequate to face the conditions that may arise in the course of the race.
- Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £2,000,000 per incident or the equivalent.
- All competitors must comply with biohazard containment regulations in force by Anglian Water Authority. The AWA website currently states:
- Sailing & Watersports
- In accordance with Byelaw 17.2, no boat shall enter a Water Park with the intention of launching onto the water without being checked, cleaned and fully dried before arriving at the Water Park. Visiting boats must sign in at the point of access to confirm this process has been carried out before arriving at the park.
- All Boats and equipment that have come into contact with the water must be checked, cleaned and fully dried before entering any other water body.
Scoring
- The scoring system is as per the Rules of Racing (RRS) Appendix A Lowest score.
- Two races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
- If four or more races are completed then one result may be discarded.
- Open Handicap Championship will be based on elapsed time adjustments to race finish times. Handicaps will be set beforehand by a Handicap Committee and will be adjust after the first race is completed.
Courses
- The courses to be sailed will be determined on the day and reflect prevailing conditions.
Prizes
- Prizes will be awarded for:
- Each Championship Race
- Top 5 places overall in the National Championship
- TBC Number of places for the National “Open” Handicap championship
- Places (to be confirmed number) for the Open Handicap Championship 1st Junior
- 1st Veteran
- 1st Lady
- The bit in the middle
- Vintage and Concours boat
- Daily awards by the race committee
Facilities and Venue
The club site is secure, entry details will be made available.
Camping is available onsite – grass area for tents, hard standing carpark for motor homes.
Catering will be provided onsite for Breakfast and Lunch. Details on the catering yet to be confirmed.
The Club has offered the use of its BBQ facility for Friday evening and camping for Friday with the option to stay for the weekend and join the club racing
